About Role
Howden Re is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation & superior analytics for top client service. As we continue to build out our US Facultative business, we are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to join us on this ambitious journey of growth. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of key US facultative reinsurance clients, while supporting new business development opportunities .
- Develop and execute renewal and placement strategies that align with client objectives and market conditions
- Knowledge of insurance distribution chain and insurance carrier expense structures
- Understanding of basic RBC and BCAR calculations
- Oversee the preparation of client submissions, presentations and placement materials
- Building submission and detailed technical analyses for client portfolios
- Working in tandem with all Howden Re resources to deliver effective client service
- Contract wording negotiations and close coordination with contract drafters and legal/regulatory experts
- Assisting clients with profitability analysis and development of growth strategies
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years reinsurance broking experience
- Strong technical knowledge of actuarial analysis and/or catastrophe modeling techniques and output
- Comfort in working with analysis of policy bordereaux, loss runs, triangles, ILF tables, rate changes/on-level factors
- Must be able to interpret expected loss and loss volatility metrics from exceedance probability curves
- Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance regulatory and compliance best practices
The expected annual salary for this role is $125,000-$150,000; actual salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience and work location. This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
