What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our Commercial Credit team at RBC, where you will play a pivotal role in guiding Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently. As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate collaboration, remove impediments, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to Agile principles and practices.

What will you do?
  • Facilitates the application of agile principles within the scrum team, fostering self organization, removing impediments, and ensuring focus on sprint goals to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and business partners to assess system needs, recommend technology solutions, and ensure thorough technical documentation and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provides consulting services on new initiatives, proactively managing external dependencies, resolving moderately complex issues, and escalating challenges through appropriate channels when necessary.
  • Drives continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and techniques, while mentoring team members and contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Leads information technology scrum master tasks or projects requiring advanced problem solving and decision making, navigating ambiguity.
  • Drives decisions on issues requiring innovative thinking and technical expertise and providing recommendations that influence own team and across other work areas.
  • Resolves information technology scrum master related problems independently by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency within scope of responsibility.
  • Maintains and enhances relationships with internal teams and external contacts to deliver measurable business outcomes.


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools, AI, (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Claude) and methodologies.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution abilities. Ability to influence without authority and drive cross-functional collaboration


Nice to have:
  • Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is preferred.
