What is the opportunity?

In support of RBC's journey towards an agile organization, the Delivery Lead plays a key role in leading project delivery and driving the culture and behaviors needed to succeed with a client centric approach. We strive to provide top performance and foster a true team environment.

In this role, the Delivery Lead facilitates and leads project management agile processes and their execution, escalates impediments, manages risks and help drive program level continuous improvement for the Financial Crimes Technology team. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring project governance is adhered to for RBC safety and soundness, and financial accountability for the project.

Success of this role is measured by how well the project processes are being planned and executed, the success and predictability of the teams delivering on the project objectives and commitments and team culture.

What will you do?
  • Deliver multi-million dollar budget projects.
  • Execute all agile ceremonies (eg. backlog refinement, OKR planning, retrospectives)
  • Execute all project delivery governance.
  • Be the point of contact for all partners with a deep understanding of respective projects.
  • Manage project budget, forecasting and related change requests articulately.
  • Proactively managing and escalating risks, issues, impediments and dependencies.
  • Supporting team through organizational change while minimizing disruption and keeping focus on productivity and morale.
  • Have the winning mindset to provide coaching, mentoring, and inspiration to team members on agile processes and practices and delivery practices. Monitoring and improving the scrum process and project progress; helping solve impediments in the development process.
  • Coaching the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.
  • Fostering self-organization and collaborative scrum team; sheltering the team from outside distractions to keep focus mainly on the agreed sprint goals.
  • Ensuring scrum principles and approaches are understood correctly by the development team and stakeholders; maximizing the performance of the team.
  • Ensure all projects are reported on time and accurately.
  • Build relationships and communicate with program sponsor, business, vendors and technology owners and colleagues by providing superior client experience.
  • Act as a bridge between the business, vendor, and the technical teams.
  • Contribute ideas on streamlining or pivoting for the betterment of RBC.
  • Be proactive to identify or fill gaps.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • 5+ years progressive IT project delivery experience managing programs with high level of value, complexity and multi-million project budgets.
  • Working experience of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies and tools (Jira & Confluence).
  • Experience in project delivery, project plan development and management, project governance, scheduling methodology, project metrics, analysis, status reporting, and change management.
  • Experience with MIS, Planview and RBC project governance.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, approachable and fun!
  • Scrum Certification CSM or other.

Nice-to-have
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Capital Markets experience is preferred.
