Position description: Sojern is seeking a high-energy, strategic, and relationship-driven
Sales Director, Co-Op Development to lead and expand our Co-Op Host footprint across the U.S. West region. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind onboarding new Co-Op Hosts, with a heavy emphasis on key California markets and major Western hubs.

Primary Responsibilities:- Drive Host Onboarding: Actively prospect, pitch, and onboard high-value Co-Op Hosts across the Western U.S., achieving and exceeding quarterly acquisition targets.
- California Market Focus: Serve as the regional expert for California cities, mapping out high-priority sub-markets and identifying top-tier host opportunities.
- Pipeline Management: Manage the end-to-end sales cycle from initial outreach and consultative pitching to contract negotiation and final onboarding.
- Partner with Destination Sellers: Collaborate daily with Destination Sellers to align regional supply with market demand. Use their destination intelligence to build highly tailored pitches for prospective hosts.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Account Management, Onboarding, and Product teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hosts after the contract is signed.
- Identify Trends: Keep a pulse on local tourism, hospitality, and cooperative trends in Western states to refine pitching strategies.
- Data-Driven Reporting: Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in our CRM and provide regular regional forecast reports to leadership.
Qualifications & Skills - Experience: 5+ years of sales or business development experience, ideally within destination marketing industry.
- Regional Expertise: Deep familiarity with the U.S. West market, particularly the geography, business landscape, and networking circles within California.
- Collaborative Mindset: A proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional or matrixed teams (like Destination Sellers) to close deals.
- Deal-Closing Prowess: Strong negotiation skills with experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder contract cycles.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to deliver compelling presentations to business owners and executives alike.
- Travel: Ability to travel regionally up to 25-30% for key face-to-face meetings and industry events.
