ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
We are seeking a proactive, adaptable Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator to own the implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of vital IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be the backbone of system reliability-managing everything from client/server setups, storage, and network devices to cross-platform operating systems. You will handle both Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting, configure UNIX and Windows environments, and proactively enhance infrastructure components to keep system availability, performance, and integrity at peak levels.
The annual base salary range for this role is $171,000-$203,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills
Systems Administration & Operations: Proven experience managing, maintaining, and supporting IT system infrastructure, including servers, storage, network devices, and client platforms.
UNIX & Windows OS Management: Demonstrated expertise configuring, troubleshooting, and administering both UNIX and Windows operating systems, including loading OS software and implementing reliability enhancements.
Tier 1 & Tier 2 Support: Strong track record in problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for help desk and escalation-level technical issues.
Network & Hardware Support: Hands-on experience configuring network components, diagnosing hardware problems, and managing dispatch/resolution workflows.
Escalation & Communication: Ability to effectively communicate system status, outages, and issue resolutions to agency management and internal stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, paired with relevant full-lifecycle software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on professional experience) PLUS 15+ years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 20+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired Skills
Infrastructure Automation: Experience scripting routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
System Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, alerting, and log management solutions.
Virtualization & Storage: Experience configuring virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and Enterprise Storage Area Networks (SAN/NAS).
