Site: Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, E.W. Bickle Centre
Department: CCC Dialysis (South 3) Nephrology Program
Reports to: Program Services Manager
Wage Range: $41.15 - $58.98 per hour (start rate in accordance with collective agreement)
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: Monday to Friday 11-7 pm
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: August 20, 2026

Position Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Resource Nurse is responsible for inter and intradepartmental activities related to the day-to-day educational support of hemodialysis nursing staff.

Duties
  • Direct patient care as needed to support clinical operations and workflow.
  • Development of educational strategies that will improve overall functioning of the unit, enhancing clinical practice and quality patient care.
  • Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives


Qualifications
  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Nurse of Ontario
  • Completion of a BScN, MScN Preferred
  • CNeph completion or will complete within 2 years
  • Completion of Nephrology Nursing program or enrolled
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical practice experience in hemodialysis is required
  • Recent or previous charge nurse experience in hemodialysis
  • Possess clinical expertise and demonstrated exemplary clinical practice in hemodialysis nursing
  • Demonstrate positive team leadership and resource skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent priority setting and organizational skills
  • Ability to facilitate positive change in a high acuity and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide mentorship, coaching and guidance in a manner that is approachable and positive while considering a diverse team and skill set
  • Demonstrates awareness of and incorporates best practice and policies to guide clinical practice
