Under the direction of the
Nurse Manager or Executive DON (Ambulatory), the
Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers
high-quality, age-specific nursing care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role supports comprehensive, patient-centered care while promoting
clinical excellence, cost-effective practices, and positive patient outcomes within a diverse healthcare environment at
Valleywise Health.
Key responsibilities include:- Performing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, medication administration, identification of nursing problems, and development of individualized plans of care
- Providing, coordinating, or delegating care in accordance with Valleywise Health policies and clinical standards
- Serving as a patient advocate and educator, supporting informed decision-making and continuity of care
- Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Indirectly supervising and supporting ancillary personnel as assigned
- Participating in team-building, quality improvement, and performance enhancement initiatives
Professional practice and leadership:- Demonstrates advanced clinical judgment and professional behaviors that promote safe, meaningful, and cost-effective care
- Actively contributes to the advancement of nursing practice through quality improvement initiatives, leadership activities, and ongoing professional development
This position
may require standby or on-call coverage based on operational needs.
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39QualificationsEducation:- Requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:- Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valleywise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
- In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
- Surgical Trauma: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
- Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
