Job Description

As a Registered Nurse IV in Pediatrics you will assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care for the specialty patient population.

Responsibilities

  • You will be an expert clinician who demonstrates a high standard of knowledge and expertise in a specialty as well as general nursing.
  • Consistently demonstrate excellence in all areas of nursing practice including nursing care delivery, staff education, research, and collaboration.
  • Handle complex, unpredictable patient care situations and are a nursing leader.
  • Serve as a resource to the nursing staff, the unit, the organization, and the community to promote the advancement of nursing.
  • Apply clinical knowledge regarding standard of care to consolidate interventions for time and cost savings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements in patient assignment making delegations of tasks, documentation and oversee care for the delivery team.
  • Exhibit a dedication to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
  • Provide leadership through initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.


Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science Nursing (state accredited program) - minimum


Experience
  • 5 years Experience within a specialty area - minimum
  • 1 year Must be a Clinical Nurse III at CSMC for at least one (1) year, to be promoted within the clinical ladder - minimum


Licenses and Certifications
  • RN State License - Upon Hire minimum California State RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum Require BLS unless a higher level of certification is required. As required by your specialty unit.
  • Other - See Department Specifics - 1 Year minimum Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring)
  • ANCC Specialty Certification required for internal hires - (1 Year minimum Specialty Certification for external hires )
