External Job DescriptionTHE ROLE The District Sales Manager position will be responsible for defining and promoting the growth & development of their assigned Outside Sales Rep (OSR) team. They are responsible for retention and growth of their regions customers & must possess the ability to create new business opportunities within their region. Also must be very familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures relying heavily on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish current and future goals not only within their position but the Outside Sales Reps. A wide variety of industry experience and creativity are a necessity to be successful at this position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Drive revenue growth by expanding existing business and securing new opportunities within assigned markets.
- Serve as the primary liaison between OSRs, regional leadership, and upper management to ensure alignment, communication, and execution of sales strategies.
- Apply strong market, competitive, and pricing knowledge to optimize sales strategy, positioning, and growth within assigned segments.
- Deliver impactful presentations and communications to customers and leadership to maintain existing business and secure future opportunities.
- Lead, develop, and performance-manage the sales team to maximize productivity and results.
- Own sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance against targets.
- Oversee hiring, team development, and overall talent management.
- Execute regional programs and initiatives to support growth objectives.
- Maintain regular customer engagement and presence in the field.
- Manage expense budgets and ensure alignment to financial targets.
- Other duties may be assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Customer Relationship Management Software, Quick Quote, Other Electronic pricing methods (MQS/M2O, etc.), Expense Reporting Program, and Internet Web Browser.
- The employee may be required to travel in support of sales, training, and service management. 50%+
Education and Experience Required- Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5-7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Industry experience, specifically with Windows in the South-East region of North America
