Position DescriptionAs a
Racking System Installation Supervisor (RSIS), you will oversee the mechanical installation of racking systems and other warehouse components supplied by E80 Group, including cladding and fire suppression systems.
You will monitor the progress of installation activities, including timelines, phases, and key milestones, while collaborating with E80 Group teams responsible for logistics and automated systems to ensure the most efficient and effective installation process.
You will coordinate external installation contractors throughout both the planning and execution phases of each project.
You will be responsible for delivering the installation on time and within budget, in collaboration with and with the support of the leadership team, while ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Safety will always be your top priority. You will ensure that all installation activities are planned and executed in full compliance with applicable safety regulations and E80 Group standards.
Responsibilities- Managing the internal or external installation team on site: prioritizing tasks, organizing trips, ensuring the installers understand what needs to be done, and how they will behave at our customers' facilities.
- Assessing the efficiency of the installation process and site organization, understanding and sharing with Leadership if there's any room for improvement.
- Guarantee the high-quality standard of installations (including reviewing tests and checks performed by others, and performing "on hands" testing as well).
- Issue sending and recording the daily reports, including (but not limited to) crew size, machines on site, site condition, weather, safety issues, material issues, and coordination concerns.
- Leading the activities and team on site in general, being the first reference for contractors and customer.
- In case of non-conformities or deviations: collect detailed information, performs thorough analysis and relies on experience and judgment to determine the most effective method of resolution, share the outcome with the technical department.
- Keep professional communication with the customer, making sure everyone involved in the project is very well informed and aligned with activities on site and their impact to the normal mill operations/project development.
- Interprets mechanical drawings and layouts.
- Provides technical support to installation team.
- Provides support to maintain/ review/ update the timing and the installation plan.
- Keep the SiteLog document updated and upload it on the shared folder on the server, once a week.
- Prepares reports upon request for activities sold (costs for days, flights, meals and accommodation for each electromechanical resource involved in the project).
- Keep a record of any delay, time lost or extra cost, that might be charged to the customer and making sure the customer is aware of these time lost.
- Creates purchase requisitions based on vendor's quotes and communicates with vendors during the purchasing process, only after having reviewed options and decisions with the Leadership team.
- Keeps tracking of payment due to our suppliers or monthly progress invoicing.
- Organizes and makes sure with the customer and resources, that all conditions are respected for the beginning of the installation (safety requirements, tools, equipment, accommodation, and transport).
- Make sure all technical or project documentation is available to the resources.
- Make sure all the missing materials will arrive in a timely way on site and site team can get timely support for the issues resolution from technical department.
- Responsible for the geometrical acceptance tests of racks installations.
- Collaborate and coordinate the general contractor when it comes to having civil works as a scope of supply.
- Coordinate the sprinkler and panels installation suppliers when those are either separate from- or included into the rack installation scope of supply.
Requirements- Degree in the engineering or mechanical field preferred.
- Experience with Material Handling or Industrial Automation systems required.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems required.
- Knowledge of FEM and international norms that rules the racks installations.
- Knowledge of lifting equipment.
- Expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving complex mechanical problems.
- Self-directed, able to prioritize and effectively handle multiple service requests at a time under high pressure and challenging situations.
- The employee must be able to travel frequently.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- The employee must own forklift and man-lift platforms licenses.
