What will you be doing?- Researching and evaluating state-of-the-art AI and machine learning models to identify potential applications across Smith+Nephew products
- Preparing, cleaning and structuring large datasets for use in model development and training
- Designing feature encodings to extract meaningful insights from complex data
- Developing, coding and training machine learning models using modern data science tools
- Validating and analyzing model performance using appropriate statistical techniques
- Creating intuitive interfaces and tools that enable teams to explore and use AI models effectively
- Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary, fast paced R&D environment
What will you need to be successful?- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Master's or Doctoral degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience applying machine learning in an academic or professional setting
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB or similar languages
- Experience with machine learning and data science libraries such as Scikit learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas or Keras
- Solid understanding of data analytics and statistical methods
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical finding
