Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer CTSC
Summary
Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Quality Engineer/Supplier Quality Engineer to join our growing team. This position reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with cross functional departments to support project execution, supplier quality efforts, and the overall effectiveness of the company's Quality Management System (QMS). The Quality Engineer ensures compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across all phases of product development, production, and sustainment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and internal product, process, and quality requirements.
• Develop, track, trend, and report quality objectives and key performance metrics across all project phases (Design & Development, Manufacturing, Post Market).
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support adoption of best practices throughout the organization.
• Identify quality related training needs and deliver training to engineering, production, and support teams.
• Establish clear processes to elevate quality concerns and critical issues to Management.
• Develop and document QC policies, processes, and work instructions for preproduction, in production, and final inspections, including required data collection and test documentation.
• Maintain documented quality processes and associated artifacts demonstrating QC adherence for assigned programs.
• Maintain procedures for identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming material, ensuring full compliance with contract and customer requirements.
• Perform AS9100D internal lead audit activities, including planning, execution, reporting, and corrective action closure.
• Track, trend, and maintain post market quality processes (e.g., Field Incident Reports) in accordance with contract requirements.
• Serve as the primary POC for ensuring program compliance with contract quality and conformance requirements.
• Work with subcontractors and suppliers to document their quality processes and ensure deliverables meet government and contract expectations.
• Initiate, document, and manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) through closure, ensuring thorough root
cause analysis and evidence collection.
• Open, investigate, and manage Supplier CAPA through verification and closure.
• Support strong cross functional relationships with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
• Establish and maintain serial number tracking processes for all builds; develop final inventory and configuration checklists for DCMA inspection.
• Prepare for, coordinate, and support DCMA inspections of finished products.
• Maintain and oversee the company's Equipment Calibration Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Control engineering roles.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environments preferred; construction experience is a plus.
• AS9100D Internal Auditor Certification required.
• Experience developing audit programs that meet contract requirements across design, manufacturing, and post market phases.
• Ability to develop and implement Manufacturing QA processes and control plans that support tracking of FPY, rework, scrap, and other key metrics.
• Experience documenting and maintaining design & development quality processes in compliance with contractual requirements.
• 1+ year experience analyzing post market quality data and initiating quality improvements based on field trends.
• 3+ years of hand-on experience in supplier quality, supplier management, or supply chain quality processes.
• Handson approach with the ability to perform basic assembly or disassembly during quality investigations.
• Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action, and verification of effectiveness.
• Familiarity with government contracting, FAR requirements, and DoD quality system expectations is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing quality control processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience reviewing, interpreting, and assessing quality related contractual requirements.
• High attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

• Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, use hands, climb, and engage in manual inspection tasks.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• PPE such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety footwear required when performing certain tasks.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
