Full Job Description
As a QA Engineer, you will work with numerous disciplines to drive quality ownership across the software development life cycle, as well as helping to establish and execute team wide quality goals. It will be important for you to aggressively protect the player experience and deliver results in a high pressure, agile development environment. You will also be accountable as the quality owner of an area or product in addition to identifying and implementing quality improvements to the team's development process. Additionally, you may partner with and mentor remote QA teams to ensure features are delivered at a high quality bar. Lastly, you will identify and mitigate risks to feature delivery and product quality and craft data to report on the quality of the product and update partners.

As an QA Engineer III on the Accessibility team, you will help ensure that Riot products deliver high-quality, inclusive experiences for players. You will own accessibility quality activities across the product development life cycle, partnering closely with product, engineering, design, UX, research, production, compliance, and QA teams. This role combines hands-on accessibility validation with scalable capability building. You will perform and guide accessibility testing, help teams identify and mitigate risk, and establish repeatable practices, tools, metrics, and training that enable product teams to build accessibility into their work from the start. You will be expected to operate as an accessibility quality subject-matter expert across one or more products or initiatives, influence decisions beyond your immediate team, and contribute to improving how accessibility quality is practiced across Riot. This role reports to the Director of Product Accessibility.
Responsibilities:
  • Define accessibility test approaches and integrate them into product QA strategies, test plans, regression processes, and release readiness.
  • Plan, execute, and guide manual and automated accessibility testing across games, web, video, and other digital experiences.
  • Test with assistive technologies and interaction modalities, including screen readers, keyboard navigation, controller input, and flash-rate testing tools.
  • Conduct accessibility audits and regression testing; translate findings into actionable user stories, defects, quality reports, and remediation guidance.
  • Triage and prioritize accessibility risks using player impact, severity, likelihood, product context, and release needs.
  • Establish quality metrics and use test results, defect trends, and player feedback to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Create reusable guidance, tools, checklists, and training that help product teams build accessibility into planning, design, development, and testing.
  • Coach QA professionals, external testers, and product partners on accessibility test design, execution, and reporting.
  • Communicate accessibility quality status, risks, and recommendations while collaborating across distributed teams and disciplines.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, with multiple examples of successful product or feature delivery.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and executing test approaches as part of an overall test strategy.
  • Experience with accessibility testing across digital products, games, web experiences, or comparable software.
  • Experience with manual testing and familiarity with automated testing approaches, tools, or frameworks.
  • Experience using assistive technologies, including common screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.
  • Experience testing keyboard navigation and other relevant input methods or assistive technologies.
  • Experience performing flash-rate or photosensitivity testing, including use of tools such as Harding or PEAT, or the ability to quickly develop equivalent expertise.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards, principles, and techniques, including WCAG, WAI-ARIA, Section 508, CVA and EAA with the ability to interpret requirements and advise product teams.
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, user stories, and quality or coverage reporting.
  • Experience triaging accessibility issues and communicating remediation guidance to technical and non-technical partners.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring QA team members and/or external testers on test design, planning, and execution.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement within a team or product development process.
  • Experience partnering effectively with software engineers, designers, artists, producers, project managers, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and fluency in the software development life cycle.
  • Experience using task and defect management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience testing games or interactive experiences across PC, console, and/or mobile platforms.
  • Experience with accessibility testing for game engines or game UI technologies, such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Experience with web technologies and accessibility testing in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or related UI systems.
  • Experience designing or maintaining accessibility test automation, tooling, or reusable QA infrastructure.
  • Experience establishing quality metrics that influence product decisions and drive change.
  • Experience working with distributed teams, vendors, or external testing partners.
