QA Engineer - Data, ETL and API Testing

Position Description:

We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer with experience in data validation, ETL testing, API testing, and cloud-based data platforms. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at our downtown Toronto office and/or a client office a minimum of four days per week. This requirement is subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and execute automated testing solutions for ETL processes and APIs.
• Validate data quality, integrity, and accuracy across data pipelines and applications.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and testing.
• Collaborate with development, data engineering, and business teams to support high-quality deliverables.
• Work with cloud and big data technologies to support testing and validation activities.
• Maintain test assets, code repositories, and automation frameworks in accordance with established best practices.
• Participate in quality engineering initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Excellent SQL coding skills.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with cloud technologies, Hadoop, and Parquet.
• Experience with AWS S3.
• Proficiency with GitHub for source code management and collaboration.
• Experience with automated ETL testing.
• Experience with automated API testing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Quality Engineering (QE) methodologies and best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in Data Engineering, QA Automation, ETL Testing, or a similar role.
Assets
• Experience with GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or AI-assisted development tools.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and applications.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000-$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy."
