Description:Your opportunity:As the Property and Facilities Coordinator, you will ensure efficient day to day facilities operation in the residences by providing administrative support to the Manager Operations - Residences, with facilities related functions of caretaking andmaintenance. This position also assists in identifying major and minor infrastructure and maintenance projects of the three UC Residences through regular inspections, communication with manager, planning, and scheduling of these projects to provide a high quality and positive residence experience to students living on campus
Your responsibilities will include:- Determining and coordinating logistical details to ensure effective facilities support for events and group stays, including scheduling the setup and takedown of required equipment
- Identifying and reporting facility repair and/or maintenance needs; checking that work orders are completed appropriately
- Coordinating and communicating work being performed on facilities to minimize disruptions to daily operations
- Coordinating and facilitating the timely resolution of minor maintenance and repair issues
- Conducting routine building inspections; scheduling ongoing building maintenance
- Liaising with clients to resolve minor complaints and address issues in the residence
- Analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements
Essential Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in facilities management conducting building administration and maintenance duties in a post-secondary, residential, or similar institutional environment
- Experience supervising unionized staff, including coordinating staff schedules
- Experience in preparing and maintaining facilities operational records such as work orders, schedules, inventory tracking
- Demonstrated superior organization skills, including logistics of special events and residentials moves
- Demonstrated experience in Health and Safety issues, Fire Prevention, Emergency Planning and Emergency Response
- Experience responding to facilities urgent issues, emergencies and coordinating repairs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and responsibility, work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines and make sound judgment
- Strong customer service orientation, with excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities with interruptions from staff and students, others
