The Project Manager II will be responsible for the overall direction, planning, implementation, execution, monitoring and completion of multiple projects ensuring consistency with Vertafore's mission, strategy, values, commitments and goals.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager II is responsible for managing the project from beginning to end, acting as the liaison between customer and internal teams, communicating project deliverables at all levels, and making sure items are executed on time, to budget, and with high quality.
The ideal qualifications of this candidate include previous experience/expertise in a) managing successful customer-facing enterprise software implementations b) business process consulting, c) customer relationship management- especially in dealing with challenging customers & situations, c) using project management software to manage all aspects of multiple simultaneous projects within a customer engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - You are experienced at developing, defining, and executing project plans and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope.
- You work tirelessly to provide outstanding project team leadership.
- You are highly organized, have proven ability to monitor project budget vs. actuals, and can accurately forecast project revenues and expenditures.
- You are skilled at building professional executive status reports and other required project documentation and can effectively communicate project status to team members and stakeholders, both internal and external, in a timely and clear fashion.
- You have demonstrated ability to identify risks, create mitigation plans, document action items, identify issues and resolutions, manage changes in scope, document decisions, and define critical path for project success.
- You will grow and thrive at knowing the detailed task breakdown of your projects such as complex software implementation tasks and consulting deliverables.
- You have a proven track record of building customer relationships in person and over the phone.
- You excel at setting and managing expectations internally with your team as well as externally to your customer and are careful to deliver on your promises.
- You delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel as necessary.
- You are empathetic and "read" people and situations well.
- You understand that helping customers meet their business goals is critical to success.
- You adjust to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fluid environment.
Qualifications: - 3-5 years of customer facing project management experience (preferably within a software environment).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology (or related degree), or demonstrated relevant experience.
- Detail oriented; demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy
- Proficient with MS Office Tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal, communication skills: demonstrated ability to present to groups, customers, and executives.
- Experience in overseeing enterprise software implementation projects.
- Insurance industry knowledge is beneficial.
- Proven track record for getting results by building strong relationships and partnerships, both externally with customers and internally with your team.
- Experience overseeing data conversions or migrations, system integrations, or new system implementations
- Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date with technology changes or industry changes relative to product(s) supported
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and show patience within a variety of customer situations
- Ability to work well with remote internal and external teams
- Previous experience with technical support and troubleshooting is a plus
Additional Requirements and Details: - Travel required up to 10% of the time.
- Located and working from an office location or remotely.
- Manage project resources and activities as part of weekend implementation events occurring on Friday through Sunday up to 2 weekends per month on average.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
- Frequent sitting and/or standing.
