Position Overview

As a Project Manager II within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX or Denver, CO.

We are seeking a Project Manager II to support a portfolio of data and automation initiatives across the organization. This individual will partner closely with data engineering, automation, and cross-functional technology teams to drive the successful delivery of projects focused on data ingestion, data movement, and enterprise data management. The role will oversee multiple medium-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment to business objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong project management background and possess experience leading Agile project teams through the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage 2-3 concurrent medium-sized data and automation projects from initiation through implementation.
• Partner with data engineering, automation, and business stakeholders to support projects involving data ingestion, batch processing, and enterprise data integration.
• Coordinate project activities related to bringing data into internal platforms and environments while ensuring project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
• Support initiatives focused on metadata management, data governance, and capturing information about enterprise data assets.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk logs, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
• Track project dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives, resource requirements, and implementation timelines.
• Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, and budget targets.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on project health, key milestones, and delivery outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts within project management and delivery processes.

Key Qualifications & Experience:
• Project management experience leading technology or data-related initiatives.
• Experience managing projects within data, analytics, data engineering, or automation environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and project delivery frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience creating and maintaining project documentation, schedules, and status reporting.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Budget tracking and financial management experience.
• PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Agile certification preferred.

Job Description
  • Manages projects from original concept through final implementation and post-project assessment. Accountable for meeting project objectives within established timeframes. May be assigned a single project or a portfolio, which require planning, oversight and communication across multiple segments. Typically, project size may reach or exceed $2.5m.
  • Manages and allocates resources and organizes the work. Drafts and submits project budget proposals, and recommends subsequent budget changes where necessary. Plans and schedules project timeliness and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Partners with internal project liaisons to acquire human and material resources, assigns tasks, directs activities, and controls project execution. Motivates and supervises project team members.
  • Tracks and reports progress, analyzes the results based on facts, defines the products of the project, and forecasts future trends in the project. Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
  • Maintains communications for governing bodies and interested parties. Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
