Title: Project Engineering Supervisor
Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $103,300 - $134,200
Schedule: 980 schedule

Focus: The Project Engineering Supervisor leads a team of engineers and technicians to support safe, efficient, and compliant ammunition production. Oversees process optimization, equipment reliability, quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. This position offers extensive exposure throughout the facility as the team focuses on implementing new manufacturing methods across all stages of the process, including both energetic and non-energetic areas.

Engineering Supervisor Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers driving modernization, automation, and innovative manufacturing solutions.
  • Identify and execute projects that enhance throughput, reduce scrap, and improve reliability through new technologies and advanced processes.
  • Oversee development, testing, and integration of new equipment, tooling, and digital systems into ammunition production lines.
  • Ensure all modernization initiatives meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting long-term plant capability.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, project managers and quality leaders to pilot innovations, resolve technical challenges, and scale successful improvements across operations.

Engineering Supervisor Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering, Engineering technology, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience; ammunition, high precision, or high volume manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to use computer applications to collect, analyze, and communicate technical and non-technical information.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process capability, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), and ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Familiarity with ballistics, metallurgy, cartridge components, and high-pressure systems is a plus.
  • Less than 10% travel

Location-Specific Requirements:
  • Must have a valid US Driver's License.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.


*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
