Project Engineer

Position Overview:

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring engineering projects from initiation through completion. Working closely with Senior Management and project stakeholders, this role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will manage multiple project phases including planning, design development, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities while supporting a strong safety-first culture.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
  • Promote and model a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental commitments, and applicable regulations.
  • Independently manage moderate to high-complexity projects from scope definition through project closeout.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, milestones, and performance measures.
  • Coordinate project execution, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage project documentation, records, reporting processes, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate project teams, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review project quality, evaluate outcomes against established objectives, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Prepare project, budget, and status reports while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners.


Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience involving the development of mechanical, chemical, and electrical industrial equipment and systems.
  • Proven ability to develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path schedules, and key project milestones.
  • Strong project coordination and execution skills with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, project documentation, and status updates for management teams.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Direct experience with formal project management methodologies is considered an asset.
