Full Job Description
The Senior HR Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that an organization's human resources function operates smoothly and efficiently across Inland stations. The key purposes of this role are to oversee daily HR
operations for Winter Ops (Inland Deicing Services, LLC). Drawing upon a thorough understanding of the business landscape, the Senior HR Operations Manager offers HR support and direction to operational teams, mentors HR Operations Specialists, and oversees the implementation of HR initiatives. This role also includes supervising HR Operations Specialists with generalist expertise and reporting directly to the Director of HR Operations.

Responsibilities:
  • HR Leadership: Responsible for implementing HR initiatives that support Inland's goals, whilst driving a positive employee experience in partnership with operational leaders. This includes workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning to ensure that Inland has the right talent in place to meet its objectives.
  • Business Partnership: Acts as an advisor to business functions, the role holder collaborates with business leaders to understand their people needs and challenges. This involves providing insights and recommendations on HR-related issues that impact business performance.
  • Recruitment: Partners with the Director of Talent Acquisition to support all station recruitment activities in line with business demands and requirements, including rehiring of candidates during peak periods.
  • Change Management: This role plays a crucial in the implementation of organizational change initiatives. This includes the implementation of change management strategies, communicating changes to employees, and ensuring that the workforce is engaged and supported throughout transitions.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture: Promotes a positive workplace culture and enhancing employee engagement are key responsibilities. Implements programs and initiatives that promote employee satisfaction, retention, and overall well-being.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for providing user support, conducting training sessions, and collaborating with HR teams. Must maintain high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Compliance: Direct and manage overall Human Resources programs and assures compliance with employee-focused regulations and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance with all provincial, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Role holder may be assigned duties not directly related to the HR function during times of low activity to meet business demands elsewhere e.g. other stations, therefore flexibility is required.


Experience:
  • Previous HR Manager / Business Partner experience is required.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring and leading HR specialists & generalists.
  • Experience in the specific industry in which the organization operates can be beneficial, as it provides context for the unique challenges and opportunities within that sector.
  • Experience in HR operations and processes, such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, is essential.
  • A track record of successfully implementing programs that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership teams to align HR strategies with business goals and provide insights on HR-related issues.
  • Experience in utilizing HR analytics to inform strategic decisions and improve HR practices.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating risks associated with HR practices and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent planning, time-management, collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, organization and presentation skills.


Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in human resource management is preferred although relevant post-secondary education and combination of continuing education and experience may be acceptable.
  • 5 years of human resource management experience in a generalist capacity in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • CPHR/SHRM designation or other equivalent human resources professional practitioner certification is considered an asset.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain eligibility for international travel. Travel is expected


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Will supervise HR Operations Specialists across various locations.


Position Type:

This is a full-time salaried position for which regular attendance to meet immediate business demands is an essential requirement. Due to the nature of our business hours of work are to be flexible with additional hours possibly required during certain peak periods. We highly encourage salary-paid to ensure work-life balance through mutually agreeable arrangements with their direct manager.
