Full Job Description

What you will do

You will plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products.

How you will do it

  • Supervise manufacturing process and product to confirm they meet design specifications.  This requires constant communication with QA Inspectors, the production team, manufacturing engineering team and shop personnel. 

  • Issue nonconformance reports and ensure corrective actions are effective, request and assist with internal problem solving and provide disposition of discrepant material.

  • Provide support and mentorship to QA Inspectors.

  • Support all Johnson Controls Manufacturing Systems (JCMS) activities and action plans.

  • Draft, edit, revise and update as necessary all documents associated with the Quality System, i.e. Quality Manual and Work Instructions.

  • Analyze nonconformance report data for process improvement projects.

  • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, tests, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component, issue containment/corrective actions as needed.

  • Perform quality-engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements, including quality manuals and company quality records.

  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.

  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.

  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.

  • Prepare and present technical and program information to team members and management.

  • Warranty review, analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Communicate design issues with Design Engineering for design changes – product improvement.

  • Interact with Product Technical Support on field/customer related issues.

  • Presentable corrective action executive reports, 8D, 4 block, etc.

What we look for

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent combined education and experience, minimum 5 years

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures, production methods (including electrical, painting and welding), shop standards, team building, statistical process control (SPC), modern quality assurance applications, and team building skills

  • Knowledge of Quality tools, PFEMA, Control Plans, Layered Process Audits, 5 Whys, and more

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements

  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software. Excel formulas and Pivot charts (must have)

  • Demonstrated planning, problem solving, data analysis, blueprint reading, organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills with proven leadership skills and decision-making abilities

Hiring Salary Range:
$67,900.00 - $101,900.00 USD Annual (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
