Summary

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Project Office of SUPSHIP.

Duties

Help

  • You will plan, develop, and conduct investigations and studies to determine assignable causes of problems in delays in project, program, and contract schedules, and when contractor and government inspection/test methods and procedures are in dispute.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert for production and quality assurance aspects of cognizant construction activities and efforts and make reports and recommendations to the Project Officer.
  • You will review contracts for work assigned.
  • You will advise other production controllers on the effects of requested changes in their area of expertise.
  • You will review proposed changes to the project work package for technical accuracy of documentation for the change.
  • You will conduct and participate in meetings, briefings, and conferences with upper management of both government and contractor personnel.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
  • You must be willing and able to use protective clothing and gear to observe safety precautions.
  • You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
  • You must be willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing production control oversight functions within the Integrated Production Development Environment/Integrated Digital Shipbuilding (IPDE/IDS) framework ( (i.e., reviewing work packages, auditing work, coordinating resources) to evaluate the planning, accomplishment and tracking of the construction of ship systems/modules.
