Senior Product Manager - India Market & Ingredient Portfolio Position Summary The Senior Product Manager - India Market & Ingredient Portfolio will lead the strategic management and growth of a portfolio of nutraceutical and functional ingredients, serving as the primary link between suppliers, customers, sales, regulatory affairs, marketing, and operations. This role requires a unique combination of product management expertise, market intelligence, supplier relationship management, and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying emerging ingredient opportunities, developing portfolio growth strategies, managing supplier partnerships, and supporting the commercialization of innovative ingredients within global markets. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of the nutraceutical ingredient industry, strong relationships within the Indian market, and the ability to work effectively with both suppliers and customers to drive long-term portfolio success. Key Responsibilities Product Portfolio Leadership Develop and execute strategic growth plans for assigned ingredient portfolios. Manage the full product lifecycle, from market assessment and supplier engagement to commercialization and portfolio optimization. Identify emerging ingredient trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats. Build annual portfolio plans aligned with business objectives and market demand. Supplier & Strategic Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with ingredient manufacturers and suppliers throughout India. Coordinate supplier evaluations, business reviews, and ongoing partnership development. Collaborate with suppliers on regulatory, quality, clinical, technical, and marketing initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Assessment Monitor industry trends, consumer health trends, ingredient innovation, and competitive activity. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making. Identify new ingredients and technologies with commercialization potential. Provide recommendations to leadership regarding portfolio expansion opportunities. Cross-Functional Leadership Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Innovation teams. Deliver product training, market insights, and commercial support to internal teams. Monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts, and supply chain considerations for assigned products. Maintain accurate reporting of product performance, customer feedback, and market activity through CRM and reporting systems. Industry Representation Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, supplier meetings, and customer events. Develop and maintain strong industry relationships across India and global markets. Travel domestically and internationally as required. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Business, Nutrition, Food Science, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, International Business, or a related discipline. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in product management, ingredient management, category management, strategic sourcing, or related commercial roles within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, food ingredient, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries. Strong understanding of the Indian nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or ingredient marketplace. Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and product portfolios. Established relationships with ingredient manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and industry stakeholders within India. Experience evaluating market trends, identifying new ingredient opportunities, and supporting commercialization initiatives. Strong analytical, strategic planning, project management, and relationship management skills. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Essential Language Requirements Professional fluency in English and Hindi is required. Ability to conduct business negotiations, supplier discussions, presentations, and relationship management activities in both English and Hindi. Candidates who do not possess professional working proficiency in both English and Hindi will not be considered. Preferred Additional Indian language capabilities, including Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi, Bengali, or other regional languages. Experience working with international supply chains and global supplier networks. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, food ingredients, or pharmaceuticals. Experience working within multinational organizations and cross-cultural environments.
