Job SummaryRole OverviewAs a Principal Technical Product Engineer (TPE) specializing in Agentic AI & Automation, you will serve as a technical authority on how AI agents, automation, orchestration, and security intelligence can transform modern Security Operations Centers.
You will bridge Product Management, Engineering, Field Engineering, and strategic customers to identify high-value automation opportunities, design agentic workflows, validate emerging capabilities, and demonstrate how AI can reduce operational friction, accelerate investigation and response, and enable security teams to operate at greater scale. You will be expected to move beyond identifying opportunities-you will prototype, validate, operationalize, and scale successful use cases across customers and the broader organization.
Impact- Define technical strategy and reference architectures for Agentic AI, security automation, orchestration, and autonomous security workflows across the Palo Alto Networks platform.
- Serve as a global SME on AI-driven Security Operations, advising internal teams, strategic customers, and partners on emerging agentic capabilities and practical applications.
- Identify repetitive, high-friction, or high-value security workflows that can be improved through automation, AI agents, orchestration, and intelligent decisioning.
- Design and prototype agentic workflows that can automate or augment activities such as investigation, triage, enrichment, detection analysis, response, remediation, and operational reporting.
- Build high-quality technical content, demonstrations, proof-of-concept environments, reference architectures, and implementation guides that make emerging capabilities tangible for customers and field teams.
- Partner directly with Product Management and Engineering to translate real-world customer challenges into product requirements, roadmap priorities, and scalable capabilities.
- Work directly with strategic customers to validate AI and automation use cases, measure outcomes, and identify repeatable patterns that can be applied across the customer base.
- Develop frameworks for determining where AI should augment humans, where automation should execute independently, and where human approval remains essential.
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation across SIEM, SOAR, XDR, CNAPP, endpoint, identity, cloud, and other security workflows.
- Help establish measurable business and operational outcomes for AI adoption, including reduced analyst workload, faster investigation and response, improved consistency, and increased security-team capacity.
- Track emerging developments in Agentic AI, LLMs, AI security, autonomous systems, and security operations, translating them into practical opportunities for Palo Alto Networks customers.
Qualifications - Extensive experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives in fast-paced environments involving multiple stakeholders, strategic customers, and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional professional presence and confidence advising audiences ranging from security practitioners to C-level executives.
- A collaborative leader who creatively solves complex problems and proactively establishes scalable solutions rather than repeatedly solving isolated customer issues.
- Deep affinity for technology and a relentless drive to understand emerging technologies, products, markets, and competitive landscapes.
- Strong understanding of modern Security Operations, SOC workflows, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, CNAPP, automation, and orchestration.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing opportunities to automate complex technical or operational workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI-powered security technologies.
- Understanding of how AI can be safely incorporated into security operations, including human-in-the-loop controls, governance, validation, permissions, and operational guardrails.
- Experience working directly with strategic enterprise customers and major cloud infrastructure providers.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud-native architectures and modern security operations.
- Demonstrated ability to prototype or build technical solutions using APIs, automation frameworks, scripting, orchestration platforms, or cloud services.
- Excellent presentation and technical writing skills, with a history of delivering demos, technical workshops, architectural guidance, whitepapers, and executive briefings.
- Experience with platforms such as XSIAM, Cortex XSOAR, Cortex XDR, Cortex Cloud, CNAPP, SIEM, SOAR, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, APIs, and cloud-native services is a plus.
- Experience developing or integrating AI agents, LLM-based applications, MCP/tool integrations, or agentic workflows is a plus.
