The ideal candidate will be responsible for:• Developing pricing strategies, budgets, and fee arrangements for client proposals and RFP responses.
• Performing financial and pricing analyses to support firmwide pricing decisions, alternative fee arrangements, and practice management initiatives.
• Collaborating with Practice Management, Business Development, Finance, Billing, Client Intake, and firm leadership to evaluate and implement pricing solutions.
• Monitoring client and matter budgets, alternative fee arrangements, and key performance metrics to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
• Analyzing profitability, revenue generation, staffing leverage, and service delivery metrics to identify opportunities for improved performance and efficiency.
• Preparing reports, presentations, and educational materials related to pricing, fee structures, profitability, and financial performance.
• Supporting ad hoc analytical projects and providing insights that help drive strategic business decisions across practices, departments, and clients.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or pricing-related functions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced professional services environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, data visualization platforms, or legal industry pricing and profitability analysis is preferred.
Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC $83,000 - $100,000 per year
The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business/finance/economics or related field; or equivalent experience
Skills & Technical Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience conducting financial analysis, preparing financial reports, and preparing/analyzing matter budget data.
- Ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Maintain confidentiality of firm financial matters.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel skills (use of vertical and horizontal lookups, pivot tables and modeling) required.
- Experience with developing and managing budgets, reporting, and modeling.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in oral and written form. Requires ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Travel to firm offices, professional conferences and educational events as requested.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Familiarity with Aderant suite of products preferred.
- Exposure to Pricing/Budgeting or Financial Dashboard products preferred.
- Project management experience is preferred.
- Experience in using data visualization tools (i.e., Power BI) a plus.
- Experience within legal industry highly desired.
- Experience with Information Builders and SQL Server Reporting preferred.
