Overview

Conduct power system studies which particularly relate to existing and future NERC and regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on generator modeling and protection setting coordination.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSS/e, TSAT, etc.
  • Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit and dynamic in PSSE
  • Perform various compliance technical assessment on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, ride through assessment.
  • Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
  • Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify training needs and present to the Senior Manager of NERC Compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Proven knowledge of power system
  • Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage change.
  • Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
