Responsibilities

Full Job Description
PMC: Senior Accounts Payable Manager

The Senior Accounts Payable Manager we are seeking must have a solid working knowledge of general accounting principles and be proficient in Coupa, NetSuite and MS Excel. This role will be reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller and will manage the Senior Accounts Payable Specialists and staff in the department. The applicant should display strong organizational and communication skills and be able to prioritize and meet strict weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the accounts payable team, including workload management, training, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Oversee daily AP operations to ensure timely invoice processing, payment execution, and issue resolution
  • Review and approve payment runs, exception items, and escalated transactions in accordance with authority levels
  • Ensure payments are made in compliance with vendor terms and company policies
  • Manage month-end close activities for AP, including review of accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Manage escalated vendor relationships and resolve complex disputes or service issues
  • Support ERP implementations, upgrades and AP system enhancements
  • Develop, document, and maintain AP policies, procedures, and standard operating processes
  • Handle high volume of emails and inquiries (as the main point of contact for vendors and employees), in a timely manner
  • Collaborate closely with the AP team and other departments to ensure seamless communication, share insights, and resolve issues promptly
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment by maintaining a team-oriented mindset and contributing to collective goals
  • Oversee 1099 reporting processes and vendor compliance requirements
  • Assist with projects and ad hoc requests, adapting to shifting priorities when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of invoices, payments, and correspondence
  • Partner with procurement, finance, and business stakeholders to improve AP processes
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline the AP process, improve efficiency, and enhance overall accuracy

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounts payable experience, including team leadership
  • At least 2 years of people management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong experience of AP systems including Coupa preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail with accuracy and ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and improve operational performance
  • Strong understanding of AP workflows, 3-way match, expense coding and internal controls
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility to adapt to new processes and changing priorities
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g. Coupa, NetSuite, Salesforce)
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g. vLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
