PMC: Senior Director, Business Development

Penske Media Corporation, a leading global media and information services company, is hiring a talented and results-oriented Senior Director, Business Development to join our Corporate Business Development team in West LA or Midtown Manhattan. This role will report into the SVP, Business Development and will proactively identify and execute new content distribution deals and handle contract renewals, working collaboratively with internal/external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Source, structure, negotiate and execute new licensing and distribution deals that drive incremental revenue across the PMC portfolio of brands
  • Own independent deal pipeline and provide regular updates to SVP, Business Development and key exec stakeholders
  • Negotiate and execute renewals for existing content licensing deals and other Biz Dev partnerships in areas including but not limited to content syndication, video distribution, product licensing, streaming and social
  • Devise and test new revenue models with the aim of further diversifying revenue streams; will also keep a pulse on the changing media industry and feed knowledge back to PMC exec team

Requirements:
  • At least 6 years' experience in digital media business development or a similar role preferably at a Media/Entertainment company
  • Solid understanding of contract review including the ability to expertly review/redline contracts and work closely with Legal to close deals
  • Possesses strong negotiation skills and is adept at developing leads, pitching partnership concepts, and conducting diligence
  • Demonstrated success in developing new revenue streams from owned IP via creative deal-making and partnerships
  • Deep understanding and comfort with Media and Entertainment industry revenue models with a proven track record of driving deals; product licensing experience is a bonus but is not required
  • Extensive experience in managing and optimizing partnerships through deal execution and beyond
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with high attention to detail
  • An expert communicator with a proactive, extroverted demeanor and a strong sense of urgency
  • Adept at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $150,000 - $175,000 upon hire + Bonus.
