WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

tms is looking to hire a hands-on Manager for our North America People Operations team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the North America PeopleOperations team, improving the team's service offerings and technology, and shaping the roadmap to enable the full People Team to meet growth demands and continuously improve employee experiences. There will be a focus on automation and leveraging technology to improve internal processes and employee experience. This role will report into the Global People Operations Director and be an integral part of the Global People Operations team.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION

  • Responsible for People Operations services for North America, which include payroll, compensation, onboarding/offboarding, employee database, administration, leaves of absence, relocation, immigration, HR compliance and reporting. Countries include the United States and Canada.
  • Lead the People Operations team constructed of 5 direct reports:
  • Line management, goal setting, coaching, and mentoring to drive optimal performance and engagement
  • Regularly prioritize and review the team's workload to create capacity for projects in line with the overall HR strategic roadmap
  • Partner with the Global People Operations Director, the People Leadership Team and other key stakeholders to scope and execute projects to improve employee lifecycle experiences and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures and process maps; develop an internal knowledge base of all People Operations-owned processes and creating consistency across operating companies
  • Review and define SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to align with changing business needs and establish a customer focused and proactive approach across the team
  • Regularly develop and improve processes to ensure legal compliance and data accuracy
  • Lead and support updates to HRIS (HR Information System) business processes; identify and execute automation and AI technology opportunities to streamline processes across People Operations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key roles in the wider HR team and business such as Finance, IT and Legal to ensure you have a deep understanding of business needs and partner cross-functionally on projects
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality in all the above, ensuring legal and compliance requirements are met (e.g., employment legislation, data protection etc.)


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations, including Leaves and Accommodations, Immigration and Onboarding/Offboarding
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience of an HR Operations service function with a focus on driving engagement and results
  • 5+ years of experience with HRIS systems, preferably Success Factors
  • Strong aptitude for technology, including automation and AI tools
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to develop data-driven decisions
  • Attention to the detail with an experience-driven approach to solving problems


Starting salary Between: $120,000-$135,000
