Seattle Children's is seeking a Pathologist to provide comprehensive anatomic services and expert clinical consultation across our medical and surgical subspecialties.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Consultation: Serve as a primary resource for attending physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams regarding anatomic and clinical pathology.
Quality & Integration: Ensure high-quality patient care aligned with Seattle Children's goals, vision, and philosophy.
Academic Contribution: Support the hospital's academic mission through teaching and research.
Faculty Appointment: Must meet the criteria for a formal faculty appointment at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM).
Service Excellence: Commitment to integrating pathology services into a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare environment.
This is an open rank position. Placement will be based on Academic Rank eligibility with UW Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
Required Education/Experience:
- MD Degree. - Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Pathology.
- Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children's.
- Faculty appointment at the University of Washington.
Required Credentials for Pathologist level:
- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington.
- Meets the Academic Rank eligibility requirements for Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
- Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.
Required Credentials for Pathologist, Senior level:
- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Washington.
- Meets the Academic Rank eligibility requirements for Associate Professor in the UW Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
- Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.
Preferred:
- At least three (3) years clinical experience in Pediatric Pathology.
Compensation Range
$299,544.00 - $539,179.00 per year
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
