Full Job Description
Foley Hoag's Intellectual Property Department has an opening in any of our domestic offices for a technology specialist or registered patent agent with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology or immunology.

We seek applicants with strong academic credentials and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Both entry-level and experienced candidates will be considered. Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of molecular biology, immunology, immuno-oncology, genetics, and agricultural biotechnology would be particularly useful.

A successful candidate who is not a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within a year of their start date. Candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.

We staff our clients' patent matters leanly, affording patent professionals an opportunity for significant responsibility and excellent career development. Patent professionals work closely with partners and associates, gain a depth of experience in a broad range of patent strategy, drafting, prosecution and diligence matters, and get immediate client contact. Such experience has contributed to the firm's consistently excellent rankings in various national satisfaction surveys and industry recognition lists. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
