Full Job Description
Foley Hoag's Intellectual Property Department has an opening for a Patent Agent or Technology Specialist with a background in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields and at least three years of patent prosecution experience. The candidate may be located in any of our US offices - New York, Boston, DC, or Denver.

We seek applicants with strong academic credentials and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The position will involve representation of a variety of technology companies, ranging from startups to the Fortune 500, in patent prosecution matters.

At least an M.S. or M.Eng. in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience, is preferred.

A successful candidate who is not a registered patent agent will be expected to take and to pass the USPTO registration exam within one year of being hired. Candidates are encouraged to review the USPTO eligibility criteria prior to applying.

Compensation range is $160,000 - $180,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
