Job DescriptionThe Opportunity: As a Packaging Designer, you'll help shape the visual identity of some of the world's most recognizable games and entertainment brands. From the earliest concept sketches through final production, you'll create packaging, games content and supporting creative assets that connect with consumers and tell a compelling brand story.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, and our Asia development teams to bring innovative ideas to life. Whether you're presenting concepts to leadership, art directing photography, building 3D package mockups, or refining the smallest design detail, you'll play an important role in creating packaging that stands out on shelf and online.
We're looking for a designer who is equal parts creative thinker, visual storyteller, and collaborative teammate-someone who's excited to push ideas forward while balancing business objectives, consumer insights, and production realities.
What Your Impact Will Be: - Design innovative packaging from concept through production for Mattel Games brands and licensed properties.
- Develop compelling visual storytelling that strengthens brand identity and drives consumer engagement.
- Create packaging and product graphics, digital assets for both retail and e-commerce experiences.
- Partner with Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, Copywriting, and Brand teams to bring cohesive creative solutions to life.
- Art direct illustration, retouching, and external creative partners.
- Create 3D package visualizations and physical mockups to communicate design intent.
- Collaborate closely with global development teams to ensure design quality from concept through production.
- Stay connected to consumer, design, entertainment, and cultural trends to inspire fresh creative solutions.
QualificationsWhat We're Looking For: - 3+ years of experience in packaging, graphic, or consumer product design.
- Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Exceptional visual design skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating packaging and brand storytelling.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience with 3D visualization tools such as Adobe Dimension, Blender, or similar.
- Strong understanding of typography, color, composition, and consumer-focused design.
- Ability to balance creativity with production requirements and business objectives.
- Comfortable presenting ideas and receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Curiosity about trends in design, gaming, entertainment, culture, and retail.
- Passion for creating memorable experiences for consumers through thoughtful design.

Our Approach to Flexible Work:This role is an in-office role Monday-Thursday, and work from home on Fridays. Combining purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility, our focus is to optimize performance and drive connection for moments that matter.
The pay range for this position is between $80,000 and $100,000 annual. The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
