OverviewSPA is hiring a Network Engineer to provide design, implementation, monitoring, and management support of secure change-controlled local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for users and mission. This position is aligned with the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division in Chantilly, VA. The role will include designing secure system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert, providing technical solutions to meet the requirements of the company and clients.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and support network equipment including virtual and physical routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Dell).
- Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Accurately document instances of network equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal.
- Investigating faults in the network, perform analysis, diagnose, and resolution of complex network problems, and recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate services, troubleshooting, and resolutions with 3rd party transport providers.
- Perform capacity analysis and planning to ensure growing traffic demand.
- Coordinate and execute scheduled upgrades.
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders.
- Accurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representatives.
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for monitoring and responding to Cybersecurity continuous monitoring requirements (SIEM, Log review, validation of security controls, required hardening, etc.).
- Interface with third-party support and equipment vendors as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 8-10 years directly related experience
- Experience with routing, switching, and firewall configuration in multi-vendor environment (i.e. Dell, Cisco, Juniper)
- Experience in WAN, LAN, out-of-band management, and Storage architecture and environments
- Problem solving and time management capabilities
- Experience working independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environment
- US Citizenship required, successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Must possess and maintain DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification
- Active security clearance (Top Secret//SCI Required) and the ability to maintain it throughoutemployment
