  • Maternity Leave (Short-Term Disability Baby Bonding): 28-30 weeks
  • Baby Bonding Leave: 18 weeks

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Telecommunications or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires 1 year of experience in the following:
    • Datacenters and Telecommunication network design and optimization.
    • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for exchanging routing information between autonomous systems.
    • Interior Gateway Protocols (IGP) including Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS) or Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
    • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) or Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) based Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN).
    • Network troubleshooting to resolve interruptions using established procedures and tools.
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,300 - $181,000 15% bonus target equity benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google Seattle, WA office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Evaluate network system inefficiencies and flaws to design and implement improved software, designs, and processes.
  • Develop software to improve the performance, security, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software, hardware, and other network system problems with minimal guidance.
  • Scale systems sustainably by creating tools and automation that improve system reliability and operational velocity. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support multiple-layer Distributed Cloud networks with the most stringent data residency, security, compliance, and privacy requirements.
