Position Overview:As our NDE Technologist you will play a critical role in supporting the manufacturing of naval nuclear components by overseeing nondestructive testing (NDT) activities, maintaining qualification programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. This role provides technical guidance, drives process improvements, and upholds quality and safety throughout the inspection process.
Location:On-site in Euclid, Ohio
Your Day to Day as a NDE Technologist:- Lead and oversee NDT personnel by managing qualification records, monitoring performance, and providing training, mentoring, and qualification in compliance with applicable standards and internal requirements.
- Maintain examiner qualifications in one or more of the following methods: VT, PT, MT, UT, and/or RT, as required.
- Develop, review, and qualify NDT procedures in accordance with NAVSEA [redacted]-1, MIL-STD-2132, and customer specifications.
- Analyze and resolve complex NDT issues, including exceptions and corrective action submissions (DSR's, RAR's, REC's).
- Design and improve inspection fixtures to enhance safety, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Provide daily NDT technical support to production operations.
- Review and disposition nonconforming hardware to ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
- Develop and maintain inspection work instructions, including method selection.
- Review vendor procedures, data history books, material transfer records, and supplier documentation for compliance.
- Evaluate manufacturing routers and engineering sketches for alignment with drawing, contract, and quality requirements.
- Ensure complete material traceability from raw material through final product delivery.
- Troubleshoot welding, inspection, manufacturing, and testing issues as they arise.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma efforts.
Required Qualifications:- Must be capable of qualifying as an NDT Examiner for Navy specifications NAVSEA [redacted]-1 for welds, MIL-STD-2132 for base materials, and NSTR-99 personnel qualification
- High School Diploma or GED equivalence is required. Certified Weld Inspector, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience/certifications in VT, PT, MT, UT and RT preferred.
- Proficient with computer software to create, modify, and analyze complex 2D or 3D technical drawings and models
- Understanding of ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) preferred.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT), including gaging and other inspection methods is a plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $76,000 - $119,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
