The Opportunity:

CACI is currently looking for a Senior iOS Developer with strong native Swift experience and Agile methodology expertise to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia!

Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.

You should have worked with or have a strong interest in Agile software development practices and delivering deployable, high-performance mobile software in short sprints.

Responsibilities:

Serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing native iOS application design, development, and maintenance for the delivery of releasable mobile software in short sprint cycles. You will work in close collaboration with backend software developers/engineers, UX/UI designers, product owners, and end-users.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing, developing, and implementing custom, secure native iOS mobile applications utilizing Swift with limited oversight.
• Architecting clean, maintainable mobile codebases using modern patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, Clean Swift).
• Acting as an active member of a product team, supporting teammates and collaborating with a "do what it takes" attitude to ensure product and team success.
• Providing technical leadership and design recommendations for the iOS platform, ensuring compliance with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
• Actively participating in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases.
• Analyzing complex mobile-related challenges (such as offline synchronization, data encryption, and performance optimization) and creating innovative solutions.
• Ensuring mobile application quality and timeliness of work, resolving bugs, and providing periodic performance reports.
• Providing mentorship and code-review guidance to mid-level and junior members of the mobile team.

Qualifications:

Required:
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass a CBP background investigation. Criteria include, but are not limited to:

o 3-year check for felony convictions

o 1-year check for illegal drug use

o 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
Education: College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience: At least 7 plus (7+) years of related software engineering experience, with a minimum of 4+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience designing and building native iOS applications.
Location: Local candidates must be available to work a hybrid schedule in Ashburn, VA.

Desired:
• Native iOS development using Swift, Xcode, and core iOS frameworks (SwiftUI and/or UIKit, Cocoa Touch).
• Integrating mobile clients with RESTful APIs, web services, and backend data stores (JSON/XML).
• Mobile streaming technologies (experience working with full-motion video, AVFoundation, and interactive live data streaming on iOS is highly desired).
• Object-Oriented Design and Protocol-Oriented Programming (POP) expertise.
• Managing asynchronous programming, multi-threading (GCD, Async/Await), and memory management (ARC).
• Source code control systems and concurrent development workflows (Git/GitFlow preferred).
• Applying estimation techniques to mobile software development efforts during sprint planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical mobile concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of all elements of the mobile software development life cycle, including local secure storage, keychain management, and secure network communication.
• Experience with Android application development (Kotlin/Java) to support cross-functional mobile needs.
• Familiarity with cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g., Ionic, React Native).
• Experience with CoreData, SQLite, or other local mobile databases.
• Experience establishing mobile CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Jenkins, Xcode Cloud, GitLab CI) and managing App Store Connect / TestFlight deployments.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with live interactive chat features in mobile environments.
