Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microfocus Expert with strong expertise in Microfocus and Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, to support the upgrade of the Microfocus platform and associated applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with legacy modernization and Microfocus application environments.

Required Skills
• Strong experience with Microfocus
• Strong Mainframe experience
• Hands-on experience with COBOL
• Experience supporting Microfocus based applications
• Experience with Microfocus platform upgrades
• Experience analyzing and supporting legacy applications during platform upgrades

Preferred Skills
• Java experience
• Experience with legacy application modernization
• Experience integrating or transitioning Mainframe applications within modern technology environments

Key Responsibilities
• Support the upgrade of the Microfocus platform
• Assess existing Microfocus and Mainframe applications as part of the upgrade
• Support COBOL based applications throughout the upgrade process
• Identify application dependencies and potential compatibility issues
• Assist with application remediation and technical changes required for the upgraded Microfocus platform
• Support testing and validation of applications following the platform upgrade
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microfocus and Mainframe applications
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful platform and application upgrades
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the modernization and upgrade activities

Education Requirement
• Relevant education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
