Mechanical Process Engineer

What you will enjoy doing*

  • You will own the research and development powder processing equipment area, serving as the primary technical resource for equipment operation, process development, technology implementation, and continuous improvement
  • You will partner with Materials Engineers to develop, optimize, and document powder manufacturing processes, establishing process routes and operating parameters for new and existing materials
  • Further, you will design and execute process development trials to evaluate equipment capabilities, improve process performance, and achieve targeted powder characteristics and throughput
  • Support the transition of laboratory and pilot-scale powder processes into robust, repeatable manufacturing methods
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), job safety analyses (JSAs), work instructions, and process standards
  • You will lead the installation, commissioning, qualification, and startup of new powder processing equipment and supporting technologies
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, operational, and process-related issues, applying structured problem-solving techniques to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • You will collaborate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to specify, design, modify, and optimize powder processing systems
  • Also, you will train and support operators and technicians on equipment operation, process fundamentals, troubleshooting methods, and safe work practices
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve process consistency, equipment performance, operational efficiency, and product quality
  • You will foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across the organization

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or other related Engineering or Engineering Technology field required
  • 5 - 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial process environment required
  • The ideal candidate must possess the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a demanding environment, demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting and installing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic, systems.
  • You have experience with Allen Bradley operating systems (preferred) and basic knowledge or ladder logic troubleshooting and programming
  • You have previous experience managing capital projects and proven ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • You should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, 3D CAD (SolidWorks), and AutoCAD
