We are currently seeking a Marketing & Comms. Senior Director to join our team in Herndon, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

Job Summary:
NTT DATA Federal is seeking a Communications Strategic Advisor to lead government affairs, strategic communications, marketing alignment and executive client engagement across the federal market.

This individual will serve as a trusted representative of the company with federal leaders, congressional stakeholders, industry organizations, business partners and clients. The role will help NTT DATA Federal anticipate policy and market developments, strengthen key relationships, elevate its external profile and support strategic growth.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience across federal government, public affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement and business development, with the credibility to advise senior leaders and engage effectively in complex, high-profile environments.

Job Duties:
  • Develop and execute NTT DATA Federal's government affairs, external engagement and stakeholder relations strategy in alignment with the company's growth priorities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior federal officials, congressional offices, agency leaders, industry executives, trade associations and other influential stakeholders.
  • Serve as a client-facing representative of NTT DATA Federal in industry events, policy forums and strategic engagements.
  • Advise the executive leadership team on federal policy, legislative activity, budget priorities, market developments and reputational considerations.
  • Monitor and assess legislation, regulations, appropriations, executive actions and acquisition trends that may affect NTT DATA Federal and its clients.
  • Translate policy and market developments into actionable recommendations for company leadership, account teams and growth executives.
  • Partner with the client growth officer and the client executives to support strategic client relationships, priority pursuits and long-term market positioning.
  • Develop executive engagement strategies for priority federal agencies, customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the corporate marketing and communications teams to strengthen NTT DATA Federal's brand, visibility and reputation across the federal market.
  • Identify opportunities for executive participation in conferences, panels, advisory boards, industry associations and policy discussions.
  • Build strategic partnerships and coalitions with technology companies, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, academic institutions and industry groups.
  • Support communications surrounding major contract awards, partnerships, leadership announcements and corporate initiatives.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel during high-profile, sensitive or rapidly evolving situations.
  • Prepare senior leaders for meetings with government officials, clients, policymakers, media and external stakeholders.
  • Gather insights from client and stakeholder conversations and share relevant market intelligence with internal leadership.
  • Ensure all lobbying, advocacy and government engagement activities comply with applicable laws, ethics rules, disclosure requirements and company policies.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of government affairs, executive engagement, communications and external relations activities.
  • Help position NTT DATA Federal as a trusted, mission-focused partner and a credible voice within the federal technology community.
  • Assume ownership of select client agency sales opportunities, as assigned, including but not limited to leading relationship development, opportunity strategy and internal coordination from early engagement through award.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years' experience providing services to the US Federal government (Management Consulting or IT Professional Services)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or sales.
  • US citizen capable of obtaining a security clearance
  • Intermittent travel


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree
  • Demonstrated lasting relationships at the Federal CXO level and a proven ability to build relationships with new administration officials
  • Deep understanding of the federal procurement process and a demonstrated track record of working with clients to expand existing and close new business within that framework
  • Experience working with a wide array of Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) and Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQs) to expand revenue and profit
  • Experience building, coaching and mentoring a team of Sales Executives (new logo growth) and Client Executives (current client growth)


NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $180,428 - $300,712. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
