Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MRB) will provide on-site engineering support to a composite production team. This role focuses on resolving non-conformances efficiently to maintain stable production output.
The position is responsible for reviewing and dispositioning defects, developing compliant rework/repair instructions, and ensuring all actions meet internal and external requirements.
This is a contract role. Flexibility to support second shift and weekend operations is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with Quality Inspectors to review and classify production defects, documenting findings in internal quality systems
* Manage non-conformances, including preparation and submission of proposed dispositions via external customer portals
* Prioritize and track open non-conformances in alignment with production and delivery goals
* Respond promptly to external inquiries and coordinate to obtain disposition approvals
* Develop detailed engineering repair instructions based on approved dispositions
* Release approved repair instructions to production and ensure proper documentation for closure
* Support additional tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, OR 10+ years of relevant aerospace manufacturing experience in lieu of degree
* Minimum 2 years of aerospace manufacturing experience
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Must meet U.S. export compliance requirements
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with composite structures and manufacturing processes
* Prior involvement in Material Review Board (MRB) activities
* Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and external portal workflows
* Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels
