Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Project Planner for our Rolling Stock Manufacturing site in Hagerstown, MD. who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from Planning to strategic.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create Project Plans from first Principle with MSP and P6
  • Monitor Key Contractual and Payment Milestones
  • Responsible in conjunction with other project members, for the collation and issue of final bid documentation to clients
  • To support in the development of robust project controls and metrics to supplement the business allowing timely decision making
  • Obtain schedules from suppliers and sub-contractors to develop an overall schedule with all milestones considered
  • Ensure Corporate Governance documentation is maintained and advise on enhancements where weaknesses are apparent.
  • Conduct Variance analysis and complete agreed corrective actions
  • Responsible for completing the full planning aspect with Primavera P6, utilizing extensive knowledge within Microsoft
  • Create and adheres to all work breakdown structures, completing all tasks in line with approved contracts and project objectives
  • Conducts extensive risk and root cause analysis, overseeing any issues through to resolution
  • Ensures extensive cost control analysis, utilizing skills within earned value management techniques, change management, variation orders and pricing, enabling the achievement of all financial targets
  • Continually analyses projects, conducting extensive reporting and analysis, implementing progress processes
  • Completes extensive liaison with suppliers and subcontractors, creating appropriate schedules and implementing measurable milestones
  • Ensures full project monitoring using CPA and S-curves in relation to all planning and scheduling, recording all schedule issues, allowing for effective resolution


Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years experience as Project Planner particularly in a manufacturing Environment
  • Graduate Degree in Science or Engineering
  • Desire and willingness to work within Rail Manufacturing Sector.
  • A proactive, diligent and driven professional with good attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, experienced in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Power Bi, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Project Management and Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge and experience of planning software (like, Primavera P6), preferred.

Education:
  • Bachelor's in related areas preferred


In accordance with the DOT's FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi's substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.

The salary range for this position is $82,451 to $ 103,063 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate's experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
