Position Summary

The Manufacturing & Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading modular manufacturing and electrical construction projects from initial planning through production and closeout. This role oversees project execution, financial performance, scheduling, customer relationships, and cross-functional coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements. The Project Manager serves as a key liaison between customers, production teams, and leadership while driving operational excellence and supporting a culture of safety, integrity, innovation, and teamwork.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead projects through all phases, including estimating, pre-construction, manufacturing, production, delivery, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, and resource requirements to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product development, production, and field teams to maintain project alignment and meet milestones.
  • Identify project risks, proactively resolve issues, and implement recovery plans to minimize schedule or budget impacts.

Financial Management

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, productivity, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and approve project invoices, track budget variances, and provide regular financial reporting.
  • Manage project forecasting and profitability while ensuring alignment with established financial objectives.
  • Negotiate and administer change orders to effectively manage project scope and revenue opportunities.

Customer & Stakeholder Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, owners, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive project management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to address project challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support business growth by fostering long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.

Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, promoting accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Support workforce planning and resource coordination to meet project demands across manufacturing and construction operations.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout all project activities.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with contractual obligations, company standards, and applicable regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of electrical construction project management principles, including estimating, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and project reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience overseeing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, productivity analysis, and profitability management.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and modular construction processes, with the ability to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with union labor environments, workforce planning, and labor rate calculations.

Demonstrated Accomplishments

  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving positive project outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to risk identification and issue resolution.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety in both office and operational environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project; experience with Accubid or comparable estimating software preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge of electrical construction, modular manufacturing, data center, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from planning through completion in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential preferred.
What You'll Get

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package.  Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month after hire.  In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401k. 

 

Salary Range: $102,000-$138,000

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
