Position Summary

The Manufacturing Plant Manager is a senior operations leader responsible for the overall performance of manufacturing and assembly operations, including production, quality, safety, maintenance, workforce management, and financial results. This role ensures electrical components, assemblies, and modular systems are produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

 

The Plant Manager leads all plant operations, including production planning, materials management, equipment reliability, and labor utilization. They develop and manage supervisors, managers, and production teams while driving performance across key metrics related to safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost.

 

This role champions a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize processes, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance on-time delivery. In partnership with executive leadership, the Plant Manager supports the company's modular manufacturing strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives related to growth, capacity planning, technology advancement, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operational Oversight

  • Lead daily manufacturing and assembly operations to ensure production targets, customer commitments, and inventory requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and execute production plans, optimizing workflows, labor utilization, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor operational performance, identify risks, and implement process improvements to increase productivity and throughput.
  • Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs and timely resolution of operational issues to minimize downtime.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain complete project documentation and quality standards and ensure all products meet customer specifications, industry requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Lead investigations into quality concerns, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and other applicable standards.
  • Lead regular status meetings to promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team of supervisors, managers, and production employees.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to strengthen employee engagement, accountability, and career growth.
  • Oversee workforce planning, staffing, and scheduling to support operational demands and maximize productivity.
  • Foster a collaborative, safety-focused work environment built on open communication and continuous development.

Financial & Strategic Planning

  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with established goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving, productivity, and efficiency initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, including capacity expansion, technology investments, and operational enhancements.
  • Align plant objectives with organizational priorities to support long-term growth, profitability, and operational excellence.

  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing or assembly operations
  • Proven experience in a leadership role (e.g., Production Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager).
  • Licensed electrician, IBEW Journeyman or Master Electrician helpful.
What You'll Get

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

IME provides an industry-leading comprehensive benefits package.  Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month after hire.  In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401k. 

 

Salary Range: $119,000-$161,000

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
