DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sykesville, Maryland is seeking a Production Planner and Scheduler. The Production Planner and Scheduler will work closely with the Operations Program Management (OPM)organization and Cell Management, on planning, organizing, and controlling the flow of product through a Manufacturing Cell in support of both internal and external customer delivery requirements.
The Production Planner and Scheduler:
- Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
- Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc. and schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
The Production Planner and Scheduler will perform tasks including but not limited to the below:
- Update work orders with material requirements
- Initiate group to group transfers
- Work with Supply Chain to review material needs/follow up on requisitions
- Organize repair releases following RFD approval
- Attach all documentation to work orders
- Expedite on the floor/tracking through process
- Enforce test plan
- Enforce priority lists
- Responsible for MTV (material-to-vendor) and Service Requisitions
- Support Production and Site KPI's.
This will either be filled at Manufacturing Analyst or Principal Manufacturing Analyst.
Basic Qualifications for the Manufacturing Analyst:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of relevant experience or Masters Degree with 1 or more years of relevant experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED and 7 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing or an Associate's degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience will be considered
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Project management or planning experience
Preferred Qualifications for the Manufacturing Analyst:
- Experience generating proposals
- Repair processes
- Material Resource Planning
- SAP

- Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience or Masters Degree with 3 or more years of relevant experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED and 9 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing or an Associate's degree and 7 or more years of relevant experience will be considered
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Project management or planning experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,400.00 - $108,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
