PayPal, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Engineering in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Work with other software engineering managers, engineers, and Quality Assurance products to develop optimal software solutions which meet market needs. Provide software technical guidance and assistance to the team. Lead the projects and team to deliver high quality software code. Handle cross-team communications to help resolve any conflicts. Influence software team and help with any blockers and testing gaps. Accountable for software project deliverables. Conduct performance review for the team members. Allocate salary rise for the team members based on the performance. Conduct interviews to recruit new members based on the business requirement. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (3 years)
2. Experience in Docker (3 years)
3. Experience in Spring and related framework like Spring boot, Spring MVS, Spring Data (3 years)
4. Experience with databases like Hadoop, Oracle (3 years)
5. Experience with API design (3 years)
6. Experience with distributed systems (3 years)
7. Experience with performance management (3 years)
8. Experience with version controller like GitHub (3 years)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $229,481.00-300,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
