The incumbent will provide support, guidance, leadership, strategic direction and management supervision for daily operations to team members as required for the operation of Security Offboarding. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring reliable employee IT technologies and ensures a high level of user satisfaction with the operations services provided by their team.

The mandate is to champion new standard and service improvements that allow the team to continuously improve performance and expand the team's assigned service responsibility. Change management of the team's day-to-day operational processes including ongoing improvement, incident management and mitigation of operational risks are within scope for the incumbent.

The incumbent is a strategic thinker who manages resources, projects and activities while ensuring availability targets, key measurements, and critical service commitments of the area are maintained.

  • Oversee end-to-end Security Offboarding services
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, KRIs, and service commitments
  • Manage incident escalation, issue resolution, and operational risk mitigation
  • Ensure timely removal of access in alignment with security and compliance requirements
  • Maintain high levels of service quality and user satisfaction
  • Provide work leadership and guidance to team members and business partners they will be collaborating with for automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Champion a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Maintain and improve (through continuous improvement) current processes and procedures.
  • Manage medium to high-risk projects, as assigned.
  • Drive initiatives within the team and the overall department to deliver automation solutions and process improvements including application onboarding activities to reduce manual effort and improve the team's overall performance.
  • Play an overall role for the Security Offboarding Team that seeks out areas for improvement and works with the stakeholders (team member of business line partners) to implement improvements.
  • Manage multiple initiatives/tasks concurrently. Assist on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Escalates more complex problems to management for guidance.
  • Manage escalations by Determining the course(s) of action that may fall outside of procedural and policy guidelines and standards and make recommendations, accordingly, escalating to Senior Management as required
  • Be curious and driven. Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of emerging technology strategies in order to apply those to internal processes.
  • Maintain working relationships with key business line partners.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Postgraduate in Computer Science (related field) or 5 plus years of experience in Information Technology
  • The incumbent must possess good oral and written communication skills for the purpose of providing reports to management and effectively communicating with the user community.
  • English fluency mandatory
  • Spanish fluency would be an asset
  • 5+ years' experience managing resources
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and ServiceNow
  • 5+ years' experience in an IT projects environment with a working knowledge in project execution, and workflow automation.
  • 5+ years technical work experience
  • Technical designations are an asset (i.e. Security+, MCSE, MCSA, CISSP)
  • Experience in developing and implementing automation strategies.
  • Proven strong record of meeting strategic technology targets and deliverables operational demands while under stressful time constraints and demands
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, relationship building, collaboration and people management skills with ability to influence and orchestrate resources at all levels
