Responsibilities

  • Manage delivery of Profit & Loss reporting and reconciliations for the Corporate Treasury Product Control team

  • Produce weekly and monthly P&L reports and month-end reconciliations
  • Review and enter monthly accounting entries into the General Ledger
  • Address queries from internal and external clients regarding trade booking and reporting
  • Prepare analysis and reports for ad-hoc requests
  • Ensure all procedural documentation is complete and up to date
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reconciliation processes.

What is the opportunity?

The Manager - Product Control reporting to the Associate Director, Corporate Treasury Product Control - ALM, will be responsible for producing weekly, monthly PnL reporting and attribution, GL reconciliations, management and regulatory reporting in a timely and accurate manner. This role also requires providing value-added analysis, develop analytical capabilities and insights using big data analytics tools and Python, blending financial expertise with advanced data skills.

What will you do?
  • Prepare weekly and monthly P&L reports and month-end GL reconciliations
  • Investigate, explain PnL and BS variances and discrepancies and make corrective actions
  • Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from core banking systems (loans, mortgages, deposits) using SQL
  • Lead ongoing projects to enhance reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Collaborate with Finance, business, risk, and IT teams to enhance controls and improve processes
  • Address queries on trade booking, P&L, spreads, and reporting issues
  • Document processes and identify opportunities to streamline reconciliations and improve productivity


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Strong SQL & Python Skills to navigate, extract and analyze data from large databases
  • Experience with big data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Datameer etc.) Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data modeling)
  • Experience in working with large datasets and building/re-engineering processes to help with reconciliations and enhance analytical capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to details and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships


Nice-to-have:
  • CFA, FRM designation (in progress or completed)
  • 2+ years' experience in Capital Markets related field in a Financial institution
  • Good understanding of Financial Instruments (bonds, swaps, FX, Money Market etc.)
  • Good understanding of banking products, systems (loans, deposits, Mortgages etc.)
