What We Are Looking For

Provide leadership to, and management of the Project Management Products team.

Drive the successful completion of assigned projects across the United States within cost and schedule constraints. In addition, ensure projects are completed with an adherence to federal, state, and local regulations including DOT and FERC regulations, as well as Kinder Morgan Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the performance of Project Managers on their team.
• Lead professional and administrative personnel.
• Develop and improve personnel, processes, standards and procedures.
• Direct and control the execution of Expansion, Sustaining, and Expense projects across the Pacific, Central and Southeast Regions.
• Promote open and continuous communication between various customers, support groups and stakeholders.
• Hold team members accountable for their performance in support of projects.
• Lead special projects to streamline and simplify company processes and procedures.
• Supervise the monthly forecasting efforts of the PMs.
• Provide training and oversight to PM team to ensure Project Management processes are followed.
• Meet with stakeholders to achieve, manage, and maintain business goals.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process.
• Review in detail and approve all scopes and estimates generated by the team.

What You Will Do

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
• BS in Engineering is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in Project Management and/or Engineering in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Proven experience in management of multiple professional and administrative personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
• Valid driver's license in United States.

• Demonstrate leadership to upper management and to Project Management team.
• Able to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Work with intra and inter-departmental leaders to create a cohesive business unit.
• Develop and evaluate plans and estimates for a variety of projects.
• Oversee the execution of all projects assigned to their team.
• Work toward solutions and applications to meet or exceed business goals.
• Coordinate efforts at all levels and with other departments.
• Demonstrate good judgment and decision making in Project Management.
• Has a core competency in the broad area of contract negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Can self-direct to meet goals set by upper management.
• Must actively lead the team, take directions from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details and follow rules.
• Maintains a high regard for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Must have strong diplomacy skills, demonstrating the ability to professionally represent the organization, build relationships and negotiate in the best interest of the Company.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Office working environment with some occasional (up to 10%) travel to project sites and to other offices across the United States.
• The position frequently works under time constraints to meet deadlines and assure operational continuity.
• Frequent contact is required with peers, management, operations, contracts, product movement, right-of-way, environmental affairs, and safety.
• Individual will be required to carry a Kinder Morgan mobile phone and must be willing and able to support projects 24/7, in case of emergencies or under special circumstances.
• Able and willing to work overtime, as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility:
• Supervises Project Managers and Construction Managers.

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
• Experience in Project Management relating to pipeline industry.
• Experience in pipeline operations.
• Experience in Microsoft or equivalent Scheduling.
