Job Description

As the Manager, IT Portfolio and Program Management, you'll oversee IHG's portfolio of technology and security investments, as well as managing the strategy, governance, reporting, communications, executive leadership status updates and briefings, and policy. The role will also include managing high-profile cross-functional programs involving technology or security workstreams.

This position oversees the delivery of high criticality strategies, portfolios, and programs and has regular internal and/or external stakeholder interaction.

Your Day to Day

  • Manage strategic delivery of programs, projects, and interdependencies, reporting progress, risks, and decisions to senior management


  • Lead in governance/portfolio meetings and provide guidance in business planning and technology/security workstreams for merger & acquisition implementations


  • Manage process improvement implementations to improve project workflow and more effective delivery including initiating reviews of post program and post project evaluation reports and benefits to ensure the strategic goals have been met


  • Oversee balancing/optimization of the portfolio in terms of strategic goal attainment vs. delivery capacity/capability and business as usual priorities


  • Work with technology and security metrics to develop data-driven recommendations for process improvements and define future-state KPIs as part of the engagements


  • Provide regular project/process improvement status updates to stakeholders and the CISO. Collaborate with CISO to define and prioritize technology and cybersecurity programs, process improvement initiatives, and cost optimization exercises. Participate in the development of funding proposals and leads to discovery or proof-of-concept engagements.


What We Need From You

  • Expert knowledge of project/program and portfolio management methodology, project constraints, and change management process (such as SDLC, CMMI, PMBOK, Six Sigma or other commonly accepted project management processes and methodologies)


  • Program management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects or program workstreams from conception through implementation and ability to translate strategic business requirements into technical specifications and specific system functionality


  • Strong leadership of multi-disciplined work teams using influence, adaptability and decisiveness


  • Understanding diverse company policies, products, markets, processes, platforms, hotel operations and technology applications, as well as a strong understanding of business principles and practices.


  • Experience managing multiple projects in a technology environment such applications development, data center operations, change management, and production support within a matrix organization


  • Expertise in project/portfolio analysis & management tools, milestone slippage, exception reporting and performance management


  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools and strong knowledge of Portfolio tool and cloud-based software solution


  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for providing and presenting information to clients, vendors, management, and staff. Strong consulting and interpersonal skills.


Location - Atlanta, GA: Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.

Travel - 10%
